But it is also held that money is the root of evil. Those who hold the first opinion think that with money one can enjoy everything luxurious in the world; one can eat delicacies and drink good wine, can buy a luxurious house or car, and can travel around the world. In contrast, those who hold the second view think that with money some people go gambling or abuse drugs; others bribe government officials, manipulate an election or the parliament; even some few would go to extremes to form terrorist organizations or launch unjust wars. In my opinion, money is useful to a certain degree but it cannot buy everything. Not every rich person is happy, nor is every poor person unhappy. Besides, I think money itself is neither good nor bad. It is the person who uses money that can be regarded as good or bad. Money can be used to build a country but it can also be used to destroy it. Therefore, money itself has nothing to do with happiness or evil.
